Is Slim Fast Good for You?

The experts do recommend that a low calorie diet that is nutritionally balanced should provide 20 to 35% of calories from fat, 15 to 20% of calories from protein, and 50 to 60% from carbohydrate. The Slim Fast Plan provides exactly that a balance of 20% from protein, 50% of calories from carbs, and 30% from fat. So the quick answer is YES, it is nutritionally balanced. Especially when compared to allot of diets that eliminate whole food groups or are based on single food items.

I think it was a chocolate lover that created most of the line, or at least they recognize that there are a lot of people that have a weight problem that is equal to there love of all things chocolate. But there are a variety of flavors available, for every-one's taste preference. I even know that some people get a monthly delivery from Amazon at a discount, so they don't forget to stock up, which is also great if you don't want to be seen in the "diet" isle of the store.

The plan is a balance of shakes, bars, and healthy eating, plus exercise. So you can't argue that logic implies that you will lose weight, without allot of weighing or portion control. It is really created for the simple minded individuals. Even if you have a health condition that sometimes restricts your ability or desire to exercise, you are altering you snacking habits on this plan. Therefore you still can lose the needed weight, which may eliminate many of your health conditions.

It's also a good idea to add your own take on the shakes. Here are some ideas:

  • Heat up the Cappuccino Delight flavor, or add it to your morning coffee, then nuke it.
  • Freeze the FRAPPUCCINO, adding a strong cup of coffee, then pouring it into blender.

These both make an instant and filling hot or frozen energy drink.  In cold or hot weather it's very good for ending hunger, and starting or ending your day.

Old advertisement, is a little cheesy, but fun.

Does Slim Fast Actually Work to lose weight?

The short answer is YES, if you follow the plan and you want to lose weight. The bigger question is why do you want to lose weight and why haven't you been able to before.

Let's take a minute to review the following questions:

  • Do you desire to lose weight because YOU really want to, or because someone else wants you to?
  • Do you feel excited about taking the next step to "why you can", rather than "why you can't"
  • Are you really willing to incorporate physical exercise into your daily schedule?
  • Do you think weight loss and healthy living is an investment for your future, and now?

You really need to answer "Yes" to the above questions to know that you have a positive attitude, to the next steps in life. Your attitude will go a long way in ensuring you get results you want.

This diet program is great for the busy individual that does not have time for meetings, to weight out food, or count calories. Slim Fast has been around a long time and you don't stick around that long, unless your product works and people are buying it.

In conclusion, the company has added to their line of products every year based on what their customers want and desire, so it is a time tested and improved on system. There are great support forums out there, so do your own research, but don't get so caught in choosing a diet plan that you never start your journey to the weight loss you want.
